Boy's head stuck in glass screen at doctor's surgery
An inquisitive lad who got his head stuck underneath the glass screen at the reception of a doctor's surgery had to be released by firefighters.
The boy, who is aged about 10, slid his head along the counter at the reception desk at the Drayton Road Surgery, in Bletchley, before it was lodged between the sheet of glass on yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Staff desperately tried to free the boy, whose ear had swollen, but called the fire brigade just before 4pm when he became stuck fast.
A spokesman for Bucks and Milton Keynes Fire Service said: "When the fire crews arrived there was no indication that it was toughened glass so their main concern was for his safety.
"So they had to take the wooden beading off the outside of the glass pain and took him out. He was not injured by but he was in some shock."
Because the incident happened in the busy reception area, firefighters had to screen themselves off from while they carried out the extrication.
The practice manager at the surgery said: "Everything was done to pull him out, but when they were not successful the fire brigade was called."
