BREAKING NEWS: CS gas used in city centre terror

Police confirm armed robbers used CS gas

Potentially lethal gas was sprayed by the gunshot robbers who raided Leslie Davis jewellers.

Such gas can cause severe eye irritation, even blindness, skin reactions and choking.

Paramedics are checking whether Leslie Davis staff need medical treatment.

It is understood two men barged into the shop at 11.40am threatening staff with at least one firearm.

Around five shots were actually fired and the gas sprayed.

The men, one of whom is described as black and of chubby build then rampaged through the shops window display helping themselves to valuable watches, some of which would be worth up to 5,000 each.
