Dancing dreams are coming true for two promising ballet students.
Alexandra Willcocks, 14, and Zahra Malik, 11, will perform in an adaptation of Swan Lake with English Youth Ballet (EYB) next month, after being selected from over 250 young hopefuls.
The delighted dancers, who attend Sue Coles School of Dance in Milton Keynes, will appear alongside EYB’s principal artists in a professional production at the New Theatre in Oxford on September 20 and 21.
Alexandra, a pupil at Aylesbury High School, and Caroline Haslett School student Zahra, will gain an insight into the life of a professional dancer over ten days of rehearsals.
Principal EYB ballerina Julianne Rice Oxley is impressed with the girls and the rest of the corps de ballet selected.
She said: “The dancers we are working with in Oxford have great energy and attack.”
