Burglar jailed after builders quick thinking
A BURGLAR has been jailed after he was caught by two builders in Peartree Bridge.
Lee Wright, 44, of Garraways in Coffee Hall was sentenced to 40 months in prison at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday after he pleaded guilty to the burglary on January 18.
He was arrested after a 31-year-old woman returned to her house on Woodley Headland to find the door off its hinges and Wright running out with various items under his arms.
She shouted to two builders who were working at a nearby property telling them that she had been burgled and they gave chase. They eventually caught him and held him down until police arrived and arrested him.
Investigating officer, PC Barry Jones, said: “Wright was caught thanks to the swift and brave actions of the two builders. We rely on help from the public in solving and preventing crime and the example these two men set is invaluable. As a result of what they have done I have nominated them both for a police commendation.”

Monday, February 20, 2012 at 11:43 AMWhy has Milton Keynes not got a "Crown Court" while villages such as Aylesbury have? Just hope the builders will not be prosececuted for violence. Milton Keynes is not in Buckinghamshire any more.
