Cambian Group offers reassurances over Mental Health Centre

The Cambian Group has submitted a planning application to develop a state of the art 32 bed, new build mental health rehabilitation service on the site of the former White Hart Public House in Bletchley.

This follows the principle of the existing planning approval sanctioned by the Secretary of State for a 60 bed care home at the site. Cambian firmly believes that this will be an asset to the local community, providing investment, jobs and training to local people, in addition to substantially improving a site that has become a blot on the local landscape since its destruction by arsonists over a year ago.

Those living at this property will be in the final stage of their recovery where their needs are based on rebuilding life skills with treatments and therapies that will help them return to independent living. The proposed service in Bletchley will provide care, close to home, for its residents, in a community setting which is proven to assist with recovery. Cambian’s residents are encouraged to make a meaningful contribution within their communities through voluntary work and locally supported initiatives.

The Cambian Group has a trusted, proven reputation for the highest quality care for people with specialist mental health rehabilitation, learning disability and education needs. Cambian is a leading UK provider caring for over 1,200 individuals, in 65 services across the UK.

Cambian works with award winning designers to create the highest quality nurturing environments that provide comfort and safety whilst aiming to meet high sustainability standards throughout.

Cambina recognises that there are often anxieties due to different understandings, knowledge, and attitudes towards people who are mentally unwell. The Cambian Group is committed to a policy of openness and engagement with the communities in which it works and we look to build a long term, successful relationship in Bletchley, as we have done elsewhere, with each of our existing services.

This would be really bad for the area. Consdiering the CQC slamming cambian for their treatment of patients at Walkern Lodge and their criticism of their Aspens Hospital where the CQC said: " People do not always experience effective, safe or appropriate treatment, care and support which meets their needs and protects their rights" http:www.cqc.org.ukstatement04298258 If Cambian treat their own patients this way; how are they really going to safeguard the local community?
