POLICE are carrying out a full investigation into a smash and grab style, armed robbery at Fraser Hart jewellers.

Director of thecentre:mk Robert Hall, said officers were in control of the situation and confirmed that no members of the public were directly involved in the incident.

He said: “This morning we had a smash and grab style robbery on Fraser Hart where three individuals entered the store, smashed a glazing panel within the store and they appear to have taken a number of Rolex watches which were in the window display.”

The robbery took place at around 10.16am and immediately internal store security, consisting of smoke screens and shutters, was activated.

Mr Hall said: “The police are now carrying out a full investigation and our interest is the safety of the staff in the store and obviously our guests and customers to the centre itself.

“I’m pleased to say that nobody was directly involved in it. Both staff training from Fraser Hart and our own team is very much about witnessing, collecting evidence and protection of public and guests into the area and that went very smoothly.

“The police are entirely in charge of the situation now, their focus is on gaining evidence to deal with this robbery and one hopes catching those responsible.”
