The pop-up bridal shop is set to be a hit

A Willen Hospice charity shop is aiming to cut wedding budget blues by opening a bargain bridal service.

The hospice received a hefty donation from a wedding manufacturer of brand new wedding gowns, bridesmaids’ dresses, hats and even shoes.

It is selling them off for a fraction of the recommended prices of in a special pop up store within its shop in Olney’s Market Place.

A bride can buy the full wedding regalia – including shoes and hair fascinators, for less than £200, said spokesman Lynn Reeves.

“There are some stunning dresses and people really need to come and have a look,” she said.

“We have everything you need for a wedding, including a few outfits for the groom and the mother-of-the-bride. It is a real opportunity for a bride on a budget.”

The hospice , which even has a supplier who makes wedding favours, plans to keep the pop up shop open for a couple of months, or until all the stock is sold.

Meanwhile it is considering lowering the price of weddings even more – by specialising in second hand gowns and accessories.

Said Lynn: “If anybody has a wedding dress they would like to donate we’d love to hear from them.”

Lynn is also preparing for a surge in popularity and appealing for volunteers to help out in the Olney shop. Anybody interested should contact Tracey Hughes on 01908 663636.
