The year of the snake is well under way and youngsters saw in the Chinese New Year in style at the MK Gallery Space, thanks to the Pre-School Learning Alliance.

The city branch of the national educational charity hosted the free event for families and carers with children under five, with activities including a mini dragon boat race, shadow puppets, lanterns and snake-chain making, plus dancing and storytelling.

Alison Smith, of the Pre-School Learning Alliance MK, said: “The event was made possible thanks to the generosity of MK Gallery, Taipan Restaurant in the Theatre District, Central Oriental Supermarket in Bradwell Abbey and Hoo Hing Oriental Food in Bletchley.

“It was attended by 86 adults and 123 children.

“A similar event is hoped to take place in the autumn to celebrate the Festival of Light’.”
