A FOOTIE-MAD youngster took part in a training session with coaches from Premier League side Chelsea after winning a magazine competition.

Nine-year-old Danny Taberner also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour at Stamford Bridge after winning the contest backed by electronics giant Samsung, Chelsea’s Official Sponsor.

Danny, from Hazelhurst, Emerson Valley, took along his dad and eight friends for the day-long footie spectacular.

The youngsters were given an incredible tour of the stadium, and spent time in the dugout and press room.

They also visited the home changing room and walked down the tunnel onto the pitch – following in the footsteps of their Chelsea heroes.

The group then travelled to the club’s multi-million pound Cobham training headquarters in Surrey where they took place in a special training session.

Danny said: “I really enjoyed myself. The stadium tour was amazing, it’s much bigger than I thought it would be.

“The training session was my favourite part because the coaches made it really fun.

“If I ever win a million pounds I want to buy one of the boxes at Stamford Bridge – they were so cool.”

His dad, Paul Taberner, added: “I can safely say that we all had a wonderful time at Chelsea.

“The coaching staff were excellent and really engaged the children. Danny hasn’t stopped talking about the experience.”

Danny also won a Samsung ST200F digital camera as part of the prize.
