City carnival plans move on with second meeting planned

Enthusiastic people are being sought to help develop ideas for the potential return of the Milton Keynes Carnival.

Former mayor, councillor Alan Richards, is behind the bid with the support of a number of people and has been discussing the possibility with a number of groups, business leaders and stakeholders over the last 18 months.

The first meeting was held on Friday, October 5, at the Network Rail HQ and Mr Richards was keen to invite more like-minded people along to a second meeting on Friday, November 9.

He said: “The people who came along to the meeting were doers, people who wanted to make this happen. We want people to come along to the meetings to contribute and support the project.

“The point of the carnival is to have fun and show off the diversity of the groups and residents in Milton Keynes. We don’t want any one group taking control, we want this to involve everyone.”

The next meeting will be held on November 9 at Network Rail HQ with registration taking place between 7pm and 7.20pm and starting at 7.30pm.
