City MP gets PM's pledge on poly' glasses

Mark Lancaster raises safer glasses issue in Commons

Prime Minister Gordon Brown has promised to look at measures to have plastic, or polycarbonate, drinks glasses used in all clubs and bars.

Mark Lancaster, MP for North east MK, raised the matter during Prime Minister's Question Time today (Weds) referring to the local campaign by Marjorie Golding to have deadly glass containers and bottles removed from nightspots.

Her son Blake was scarred for life in an attack in 2005.
