Closed pub, The Plough, up for sale as a house

AN empty pub which has been closed for more than two years is finally being put up for sale as a house.
The Plough in Wavendon closed in July 2010, but has since sat empty with the gates in front locked to passers-by.
Formerly the village pub, owners Woburn Inns converted it to a high-end restaurant in 2007, but closed their doors two-and-a-half years later, before going into liquidation in 2011.
Since then the property has been closed and the vendor has been seeking planning permission to convert and extend, initially to provide six houses. This was refused and then an application for five was entered, which was also refused.
There were objections by residents due to the potential for parking problems and over development of the site.
Following the loss of a planning appeal earlier this year, the vendor submitted an application to convert into a single house, which has just been approved.
It is now finally on the market for sale.
