A centuries-old Milton Keynes pub that used to be a preferred haunt of Dick Turpin will close this week, as it undergoes a £50,000 refurbishment.
Ye Olde Swan in Woughton-on-the-Green been a firm favourite of local residents for hundreds of years, and is undergoing the investment as a result of its continued popularity.
The refurbishment of the Chef And Brewer pub will see new fixtures and fittings added to complement the pub’s historic charm, as well as an expanded dining area.
The pub is also looking to recruit four new staff members.
Ye Olde Swan general manager Meagan McNamara said: “Ye Olde Swan has been a local institution for hundreds of years, attracting people from miles around.
“The pub’s Tudor setting, extensive beer garden and outdoor bar has made it a firm favourite this summer. With this latest investment we’re hoping to be able to serve even more local residents, as well as giving the pub some extra sparkle.”
