Dinosaur day to celebrate makeover of city landmark
Prehistoric party this Bank Holiday Monday
Rockers Bon Jovi joined forces with the city's legendary creative pioneer Bill Billings to paint it.
And now the late artist's unique work – the Peartree Bridge dinosaur – is being brought up to date, 20 years after it was created.
The 30ft triceratops sculpture is getting a makeover by local art charity InterAction MK in partnership with Woughton Parish Council, Milton Keynes Council and The Parks Trust.
The organisations are being helped by John Webb of Webbs Groundworks – a firm which is no stranger to the city's art because it is also responsible for the Concrete Cows.
It will be painted with the winning design of a city-wide competition and unveiled at a specially themed 'Dino Day' this Bank Holiday Monday, to which you're invited.
>> The prehistoric party will include face painting, T shirt printing, stalls and refreshments. Come wearing your best dinosaur outfit and you can join the fancy dress competition.
The fun takes place at InterAction MK, the Old Rectory, Waterside, Peartree Bridge and starts at 1pm.
