MK Dons have thrown their full support behind TK Maxx’s sale of Comic Relief shirts for this year’s Red Nose Day.

Last Thursday, Dons players Shaun Williams and Ian McLoughlin visited the TX Maxx store in thecentre:mk and chose their exclusive t-shirts, designed by Stella McCartney.

Since 2005, TK Maxx has supported Red Nose Day raising £9.7 million for Comic Relief so far.

The players were given the choice of their favourite t-shirt, including The Beatles, Tommy Cooper, Marilyn Monroe and Kate Moss.

Defender Williams, 26, decided on The Beatles shirt.

He said: “It’s fantastic, the club are 100 per cent behind Comic Relief and Sports Relief and I think a lot of people should come down and buy the t-shirts for themselves and their kids.

“They are going off the shelves quite fast and it’s all for a really good cause as well.

“It’s important to remember that behind all the laughter and enjoyment that comes with the Comic Relief programme, there is a lot of heartache and sorrow and by raising money for the cause you can help people who are suffering in the UK and overseas.

TK Maxx will be hoping to raise even more than the incredible £3million raised last time.

Goalkeeper McLoughlin went for comic legend Tommy Cooper on his t-shirt.

He added: “The t-shirts are a quirky, stylish way to show your support and to help raise some much-needed funds for Comic Relief.”

You can buy adult t-shirts from £9.99, and at least £5 will go to Comic Relief, while children’s t-shirts cost from £5.99 with at least £2.50 going to the charity.

They are on sale in TK Maxx at thecentre:mk now, or in stores nationwide. People can also buy the shirts at www.tkmaxx.com
