Three people were taken to hospital after a car collided with a bus outside the Theatre District.

At 1.25pm today the bus collided with the car, a Kia, in Midsummer Boulevard. The vehicle then hit a curb and flipped over onto it’s side.

The emergency services arrived and were able to free three people from the Kia.

Three people were freed by firefighters, with crews attending from Broughton, Great Holm and Newport Pagnell.

Firefighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to remove the roof so paramedics could assess the casualties – a female driver and front-seat passenger, and a male rear-seat passenger – before helping carry them on stretchers to ambulances.

Paramedics also treated a female bus passenger, who was also spoken to by police before being allowed to leave the scene in a car. Crews were at the scene for about 45 minutes.
