The new Tesco Express store celebrated its launch in Woburn Sands with a donation to Age UK Milton Keynes.

Store manager Jess Walker and her team presented the charity with a cheque for £500 as part of Tesco’s commitment to supporting the local community.

The store, in the High Street, was officially opened with a ribbon ceremony last week.

Ms Walker said: “We were delighted to be able to support Age UK Milton Keynes as it does such fantastic work for those living in the Woburn Sands and wider Milton Keynes community.

“We are so pleased that Diane and Maggi came to open the new store and join in the celebrations with us.”

Diana Winch, manager of the Age UK shop in Woburn Sands, said: “I would like to thank Tesco for this generous donation. The money will go towards supporting the Information and Advice service in Woburn Sands so we can keep older people independent.”

Ms Walker added: “We are really enjoying meeting our new customers and hope Tesco will become a key part of the local community.”

The store will open seven days a week from 6am until 11pm. It offers an in-store bakery and parking at the rear of the branch.
