A dog groomer from Fenny Stratford has scooped a clutch of awards at the industry’s version of the Oscars.
Tanya Stevens, owner of Brittanya Pet Grooming Salon in Fenny Stratford, won her gongs at the Liz Paul Awards after receiving nominations from others working in the pet grooming industry.
These nominations are counted and the five who were nominated most for each category were then put forward for voting.
This year Tanya was a finalist nominee for three of these categories as an individual and two as part of a team - more than any other individual.
Over 8,000 votes were cast for those finalists and the awards were announced and presented during the gala dinner on Saturday at Mastergroom 2014.
Tanya won the Liz Paul award for ‘Up and Coming Groomer of the Year’ and also a part of the team - the English Groomers Group - which won ‘Best Non Profit Organisation of the Year’.
The weekend was also successful in the competition ring as she won the ‘Best Handler’ award and her apprentice, Cara Tucker, 19, won first place in her class - Novice Poodle Scissor.
