Firefighters rescue injured swan from frozen lake

Firefighters fromNewport Pagnell and Broughton helped the RSPCA rescue a swan from a frozen Willen Lake.

The bird was stuck on its back on the ice after flying into cables on Willen Lake South just after 1pm today.

The water safety unit from Newport Pagnell attended, along with one appliance and crew from Broughton. Firefighters used a rescue sled.
