Five people have been injured after a car crashed into a tree on the Lakes Estate in Bletchley.

The emergency services were called to the junction of Cullen Place and Windermere Drive just before 3.30pm on Wednesday.

Two fire crews and four ambulances attended the scene and one injured man was quickly taken to Milton Keynes Hospital.

The other four people, two men and two women, had to be cut free from the vehicle, a silver Vauxhall Zafira, by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment.

They were then taken to hospital, although their injuries are described as not life-threatening.

One eyewitness, who saw the car moments before it struck the tree, said: “I saw the car come round the corner quite fast and then as he got round he hit the tree.

“The younger people in the car looked hurt, I hope they’re OK.”

The road was closed as emergency services worked to clear the wreckage and rescue the injured people.
