Food Bank set to benefit from food awards this year

Organisers of the third annual MK Food and Leisure Awards have announced the charity which will benefit from this yer’s event .

Milton Keynes Food Bank, which provides families in need with regular food parcels, was named as the Awards’ charity of the year with staff delighted to be involved with the awards for 2014.

Rebecca Savage, who works with the charity, said: “We are delighted to be the chosen charity for the Food and Leisure Awards 2014.

“The need for our service has unfortunately risen dramatically in the last year and support from local companies is vital in ensuring we prevent hunger in Milton Keynes.

“We are very grateful to the organisers of The MK Food and Leisure Awards for choosing MK Food Bank to receive proceeds.’’ Money will be raised in the official awards super raffle on the awards night which will be held at the Jury’s Inn on May 11. There will also be an auction on the night with sporting memorabilia provided by city company Signature.

Votes are still pouring in to find the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, bars, chefs, waiters gyms and many more .

Votes are up 15 per cent on last year but people can still get online and make their vote count by visiting www.mkfla.co.uk.
