Ill children at Milton Keynes Hospital have been treated to the bear necessities, after freemasons donated more than 100 soft toys to the paediatrics’ accident and emergency unit.

Representatives from the nine lodges and three chapters at the Masonic Centre in Queensway, Bletchley, gave the 144 toys to nurses, who will use them to soothe the youngsters’ feelings while they are in hospital.

Mike Stimson, deputy head of MK and Bucks Freemasons, said: “Freemasonry is all about friendship, decency, and charity, so the Teddies for Loving Care scheme – TLC – is close to our hearts.”
