Colourful event marks official launch of this year's FringeMK Festival

A parade celebrating the diversity of Milton Keynes made for a colourful display on Monday evening, World Peace Day.

With acceptance and respect of others at its core, the Celebr8 procession set off from Campbell Park snaking its way along Midsummer Boulevard and on to Station Square.

The parade was led by Festive Road and the ION Puppet, our regional mascot for the 2012 olympics.

It served as the official launch of this years' FringeMK Festival.

For more details about the programme of public art see today's GO! section of the Citizen newspaper. Alternatively you can view the e-paper on this website.
