Gaza peace rally held in CMK

TWO city peace groups held a stall in City Square to highlight the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Members and supporters of the Milton Keynes Stop The War Group and the Milton Keynes Branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign organised the stall on Monday.

The groups were also highlighting the continued occupation of Gaza by Israel and the siege that has been ongoing since 2006.

The city centre stall attracted many people and in two hours collected over 100 signatures on a petition to the Foreign Secretary.

A spokesman from MKPSC said “We aim to make people in Milton Keynes aware of the plight of Palestinians in Gaza. Many people told us they were horrified by the pictures seen on television of innocent men, women and most of all children lying injured or dying amidst the horror of war.”
