Girl, 11, fights off man as he tries to abduct her in Milton Keynes

A would-be child abductor told an 11-year-old girl to get in the back of his van after asking her for directions.

The child had just been walking through an underpass under the A421 when a stranger latched onto her arm and asked her to get in the vehicle.

She broke free by kicking him and striking him in the stomach before running away down Wadhurst Lane, Kents Hill.

The attempted abduction took place between 3pm and 3.45pm on Friday.

The offender is described as white with tanned skin, 5ft 7ins, medium build, bald with a distinctive wart on one of his ears. He was wearing black clothing and black boots at the time of the incident. A vehicle was not seen.

Detective Inspector Phil Hayes said: “The victim has described being approached by a man she did not know and instructed to get in to a van.

“No van was seen during the incident however understandably this was a distressing experience for her.

“I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with any information about it which could assist the investigation.

“Officers have been carrying enquiries in the area to identify the offender.

“If anyone has any concerns, please feel free to speak to an officer patrolling in the area or call 101 to speak to your local neighbourhood team.”
