GOLDEN postboxes, painted to commemorate Greg Rutherford’s gold at the Olympics in London, are set to remain that way permanently.

Royal Mail also announced that plaques would be fitted to tell people which athletes the postboxes had been painted for. Greg’s two golden boxes are located close to Lloyds bank in Lloyds Court and have attracted thousands of visitors.

Greg leapt to Olympic Gold on a sensational weekend for Team GB on August 4 with a jump of 8.31m. His win came on the same night Jessica Ennis and Mo Farah also struck gold.

Greg has since been honoured with a parade in his hometown of Woburn Sands despite missing out on a parade in Central Milton Keynes.
