Happy days for The Fonz fans

Henry Winkler

Henry Winkler

Actor and dyslexic author Henry Winkler (aka The Fonz) is working hard to dispel the stigma of learning difficulties and he was given a warm welcome by youngsters at Milton Keynes Theatre on Friday.

The Happy Days actor is touring schools and theatres with Nicky Cox, editor of children’s newspaper First News, in partnership with national charity, Achievement for All 3As.

He said: “How you learn has nothing to do with how smart you are. School was unbelievably hard for me. Teachers didn’t know what dyslexia was at that time.

“I got a bad grade in everything but lunch.

“Just because we learn differently, that does not mean that we are not incredibly smart human beings.”
