Hospital to hold advice evening for would-be parents

THE hospital is set to hold a pre-conception drop-in evening for would-be parents next week.

The event, to be held on Tuesday, January 15 between 7pm and 9pm, will give prospective mums and dads the chance to view a range of information and speak to experts about to give their babies the best possible start in life – including dos and don’t before you conceive.

A spokesman for Milton Keynes Hospital said: “It’s a good idea to make sure your body is ready for a having a baby.

“A range of experts will be on hand to offer tips on making lifestyle changes for people who need to such as achieving a healthy weight, reducing stress, cutting down on alcohol and stopping smoking.

“While of course it’s vital for prospective mums-to-be to follow this advice, potential dads can help make bouncing babies by being healthy too.”

And Carolyn Rooth, Consultant Midwife at the hospital, added: “Giving your baby the best start in life starts before you get pregnant.

“Anyone thinking of trying for a baby is warmly invited to come to our open evening.

“Come and chat to our staff for advice and guidance on how to maximise your chances of becoming pregnant and having a healthy pregnancy.”

The event takes place at the hopsital’s anntenatal clinic (entrance 2 in outpatients).
