TEN lucky pensioners are set to enjoy a special Christmas meal, courtesy of a city restaurant.

The Broughton Hungry Horse will be putting on a festive spread for the senior citizens on December 13.

The eatery, which was named as the city’s best family restaurant at the inaugural Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards earlier this year, has joined forces with Age UK Milton Keynes to put on a winter banquet.

Restaurant Manager Mark Fitzsimon and his wife, Kirsty, approached Age UK as they wanted to do something for those elderly residents who can be left without a hot meal as the cold winter weather approaches.

Mr Fitzsimon said: “It’s really getting cold now and I know not every old person can afford a nice hot meal at Christmas time so I decided, with my wife, to donate the prize and invite ten lucky people to come and enjoy a hit Christmas lunch with us.

“We have arranged music, crackers and fun.”

And Suzanne Campbell, from Age UK Milton Keynes added: “This is such a wonderful gift.

“Our clients love to get out of their homes and tell old stories and have spoke laughs with others.

“Thank you very much Mark.”
