Ian set to star in next 'Apprentice' series

LOOK out Sir Alan – your next Apprentice could be Milton Keynes' Ian Stringer!

The 26-year-old, from Newport Pagnell, is among the 16 candidates for the latest season of The Apprentice.

But Ian, who admits to being a 'loud' person, was unusually quiet this week under orders from TV executives not to speak to the press.

"I've been gagged – I can't say a sausage," he did tell the Citizen.

Ian's CV as supplied by the show, which sees a posse of wannabes pitch for a 100,000 job with Sir Alan Sugar's business empire, boasts he has eight GCSEs and that he works part-time for BBC local radio as a football commentator.

His full-time job is given as a software sales manager and Ian boasts he gives "110 per cent" to everything he does.

His showbiz claim to fame is writing the lyrics to a football version of Tony Christie's Amarillo which reached Number 8 during the 2006 World Cup.

This week, Jon Gregory, a fellow player in the MK Media Tarts football team and no stranger himself to reality TV, said viewers could be in for some sparks on screen.

"Ian is really competitive and I can imagine him falling out with Sir Alan pretty quickly.

"In fact he could start a fight in an empty room," he joked.

No-one outside The Apprentice knows what is in store over the next few months but a little bird told the Citizen: "You have got to watch the first episode – it all kicks off!"

The Apprentice starts on Wednesday March 26 at 9pm on BBC One.
