Amid positive news today from the Office of National Statistics showing that unemployment has fallen across the UK, intu has released a report which shows its Centre’s employment figures and economic contribution within Milton Keynes.
intu’s Economic Contribution Report, conducted by Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners, reveals that intu Milton Keynes is one of the region’s biggest employers, delivering 2488 jobs, accounting for 1 per cent of the region’s total employment.
Martin Hindson, General Manager at intu Milton Keynes, said: “We’re obviously very pleased that unemployment continues to fall in Milton Keynes, and that our Centre continues to support the employment of so many local people.”
Nationally, intu has 20 shopping centres across the UK which support over 105,000 jobs, accounting for 3 per cent of all UK retail sector jobs.
The company has plans to invest £1.2 billion in its shopping centres over the next 10 years.
