A man whose phone was stolen as he walked through Milton Keynes chased after the thief in an attempt to catch him, but was left disappointed.

The victim was walking in Midsummer Boulevard towards the Xscape at around 7pm on Tuesday when a man approached him from behind.

His iPhone was snatched from his hand by the offender, who then ran in the direction of John Lewis.

The victim ran after him shouting ‘thief’, but lost the suspect in the John Lewis car park.

The thief is described as black, aged between 25 and 32, around 6ft 2ins tall and of stocky build, wearing a burgundy baseball cap, light-coloured button-fronted shirt and light coloured trousers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact investigating officer PC Deborah Seagrave on the 24-hour Thames Valley Police non-emergency number 101.
