Man attacked with gun and screwdriver in robbery
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses after an aggravated burglary at an address in Heelands yesterday evening.
At about 9.35pm, the occupants of an address in Swinden Court, a 16-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man, heard a knock at the door. When the girl opened the door, three men wearing dark clothing and with their faces covered forced their way in. A disturbance ensued, during which the man was assaulted. The men then made off with keys and a mobile phone.
It is believed that the 25-year-old man was assaulted with a screwdriver and the butt of a firearm during the incident. He sustained superficial injuries and received treatment at Milton Keynes General Hospital before being discharged.
Det Sgt Luke Grove, leading the investigation, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious activity or vehicles in the area prior to the incident or afterwards, or who has any other information which may assist us with our investigation.”
Det Sgt Grove can be contacted via the 24-hour Police Enquiry Centre on 101. If you don’t want to speak directly to the police you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.
