Man found guilty of sexual assaults
A 59-year-old man has been found guilty of two counts of sexually assaulting women following a trial at Aylesbury Crown Court.
Thomas Cook, of Christie Close in Newport Pagnell, worked as an independent driving instructor and sexually assaulted his two victims while he was teaching them to drive in Milton Keynes.
Cook denied both charges but was found guilty on Thursday, following a three-day trial.
The first incident was in July 2008, when Cook touched a 20-year-old woman indecently during a driving lesson. The second incident was in November 2010 in which Cook indecently touched a 17-year-old woman.
Investigating officer Det Con Darren Street, of Milton Keynes CID, said: “Cook acted in a predatory fashion and targeted young women he was teaching to drive for his own gratification.
“I would like to thank both victims for their bravery and courage in supporting the police investigation and subsequent trial, as they have both been through a very traumatic ordeal.”
Cook is due to be sentenced for both offences at Aylesbury Crown Court on 23 February.
