A CHARITY has pledged to help people fulfil their New Year’s resolutions.

Whether your goal is to get fit, lose weight, meet new people or do something adventurous for charity in 2013, Marie Curie Cancer Care is offering everyone challenges to help them meet their goals.

This week, the charity is launching its programme of events and challenges for 2013 offering people in Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire everything from runs, treks, triathlons and cycle rides to walking and overseas challenges.

The full list of events can be seen on the Marie Curie website.

Events include the Silverstone Half Marathon in March and the Milton Keynes Marathon in May, that Marie Curie will support fundraisers with.

Overseas challenges are also available, including trekking the 15th Century Ming Dynasty, Great Wall of China on a nine day trip in May 2014.

Regional Events Fundraiser, Edwin Turnham, said: “New Year’s resolutions often fall by the wayside before January is over, but Marie Curie Cancer Care has events and challenges throughout the year to help you stick to, and achieve, your aims for 2013.

“Whether you want to improve your fitness, have fun or get outdoors more, there’s something for everyone.

“So why not take up a challenge, fulfil your ambitions and help raise vital valuable funds for Marie Curie Nurses, who provide free care to people with terminal cancer and other illnesses in their own homes.

“There really is something for everyone.”

Anyone who registers for a running event as part of Marie Curie’s Daffodil Team will receive a unique Nike Dri-FIT running vest designed exclusively and solely for Marie Curie Cancer Care; full fundraising support prior to the race that will ensure you reach your target; encouragement along the route from the charity’s loud and colourful cheer stations; and a sports massage to sooth aching muscles after the race.
