A Milton Keynes worker rubbed shoulders with Dragons’ Den and entrepreneur Peter Jones last week as she graduated from a BTEC Business course.
Jennifer Richardson, from the énergie Group in Milton Keynes celebrated her achievements as she graduated from the Peter Jones Academy.
The celebrity entrepreneur attended the ceremony and presented Jennifer Richardson and her colleague Catherine Laura Wadley with their BTEC Level 3 Enterprising Skills and Business Environment awards.
The course aims to increase understanding of customer communication, financial control, future growth planning and performance analysis.
Both Jennifer and Catherine kept a daily record of their progress and were assessed in the end by having to prepare individual pitches to the directors at the énergie group.
Karrin Simpson, the Group Training Manager at énergie Group said: “The extensive course has given our staff members a far better understanding of how businesses work in theory, whilst also giving them the opportunity to regularly liaise with the Group’s directors to see their studies in practice.
“They can now both walk away with a fantastic qualification, detailed feedback and heaps of confidence.”
The Chief Executive of the énergie Group, Jan Spaticchia was a part of the panel assessing the final project.
He said: “I was thoroughly impressed with the course and the impact it had on the girls, especially with their confidence and subject knowledge - their final project ideas were well thought out and presented very well.”
