A furniture superstore chain which includes a Milton Keynes branch among its 50 outlets has gone into administration.

Customers of Paul Simon have been told that Lee Antony Manning and Nicholas Guy Edwards were appointed Joint Administrators of the business on April 2.

A message on the store’s website reads: “The affairs, business and property of the Company are being managed by the Joint Administrators. The Joint Administrators act as agents of the Company without personal liability. The Joint Administrators are authorised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. All licenses insolvency practitioners of Deloitte LLP are licensed in the UK.”

Paul Simon operates from 50 stores nationwide selling a range of curtains, blinds, beds and other home furnishings. The Milton Keynes branch is at 4B Snowdon Dr, Winterhill.

A customer from Milton Keynes, who asked not to be named, said: “I paid over £1,000 for a three-piece suite in February and it was due to be delivered on Thursday this week. I hadn’t heard anything so called the company on Tuesday when I was told the business had gone into administration. I’m not sure if I will ever get my money back and I do wonder how many other people out there are in a similar position.”

A further message from the administrators states: “Customers who paid for items in full prior to the appointment of the Joint Administrators may now collect their goods from in-store, provided that they are readily available in the store of purchase. In the event that these goods are not in store, then customers will be unable to collect them or be refunded at the present time.

“At present, customers who paid for an item in part will not be able to collect their goods.”

Until administrators have enough information to assess the company’s position with regards to deposits, customers are being advised to make contact via email to paulsimoncustomers@deloitte.co.uk.
