LOVE food?

Then you’ll be hungry to hear about the return of the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards.

Last year, the Citizen backed the inaugral awards, which proved to be a massive success culminating in a glittering ceremony at The Swan in Milton Keynes Village.

Among the big winners last year were Mark Austin from The Swan, Salford who was named Best Chef.

The prestigious Best Restaurant gong was won by the Crooked Billet, while the Best Bar was named as The Living Room.

The awards aim to honour the best restaurants, pubs, hotels, chefs, gyms and destinations in the city. It’s remit goes beyond simple food and drink with gongs up for grabs for the best waiter or waitress, best hotel and the top attraction.

They aim to showcase the best restaurants in and around Milton Keynes, uncover those fabulous tasting dishes, seek out the most talented chefs and locate the best family and leisure locations.

The 2013 event will be held at Jury’s Inn in CMK on May 12.

Winners of each category will be selected by public online votes, mystery dining and a panel of judges.

The best chefs in Milton Keynes will attend a live cook off at Milton Keynes College where they will make a starter, main and dessert for the judges, who will again include Citizen deputy editor Craig Lewis.

People can vote for their favourite in each category by visiting the Milton Keynes Food and Leisure Awards website at www.mkfla.co.uk
