COUNCILLORS are expected to confirm the establishment of a Health and Wellbeing Board at a meeting next week.

The Board, which has been put in place by Government, has the power to commission improvements across health and social care services.

Milton Keynes Council is required to introduce the Board by April 1.

It will consist of elected councillors, representatives from clinical commissioning groups and council officers.

Milton Keynes has had a Shadow Health and Wellbeing Board in place since December 2011.

The council is expected to confirm the Board’s formation at a meeting on Wednesday.
