Could we be heading to Mars to set up home in the future? That’s the question that will be discussed at a free public lecture in Milton Keynes next week.
Since landing in August 2013 scientists have identified the clearest evidence yet for a habitable environment on Mars.
Dr Susanne Schwenzer will discuss this and more in her lecture The Curiosity Rover Exploration of Mars: What Have we Learned About Mars? In the Berrill Lecture Theatre, Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, at 7.30pm, Tuesday, April 8.
All are welcome to attend free of charge.
Using the range of instruments on the rover, including X-ray diffraction and gas chromatography, scientists have been able to establish some of the conditions under which water was present. The Mars Science Laboratory mission is rapidly deepening our knowledge of Mars.
