A 33-year-old man was given a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to burglary and fraud.
Christopher Terry, of The Hide, Netherfield, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday to a 12 month suspended sentence and 200 hours of unpaid work.
Between May 23 and June 6, Terry entered a property in Buttermere Close, Bletchley, and stole jewellery and a credit card.
He then made 18 fraudulent credit card withdrawals while the owners of the card were on holiday.
Terry was charged on June 25 and pleaded guilty on 10 July to burglary and three counts of fraud by false representation.
He will also pay costs to the court of £600 and compensation to the victim of £3,500.
