Mind blowing science

YOUNGSTERS experiencing back to school blues have the chance to win the lesson of a lifetime this month.

Professor Brian Cox, who won over millions of viewers with hit TV series ‘Wonders of the Solar System’ will capture the imagination of one lucky science class with The Big Bang Lesson – a mind blowing workshop that will take learners to infinity and belong.

Brian has joined forces with The Big Bang UK: Young Scientists and Engineers Fair 2011 to launch a nationwide competition.

School children can enter their school, and if they win Professor Cox will be taking over their lesson in Milton Keynes on November 16.

Brian said: “Science, technology, engineering and maths always captured my imagination.

“I’m thrilled to be teaming up with The Big Bang to host my once in a lifetime lesson.

“I want to persuade young people that they can play a part in answering big questions, and enjoy learning about this fascinating and beautiful universe of ours.”

To register for the chance to have the Professor send your science class spinning into orbit visit www.facebook.com/TheBigBang4U for more information about the competition.

Entry closes on October 24.

> There is still time to enter the National Science & Engineering Competition (www.nationalsciencecompetition.org)

Open to 11-18 year-olds, it is an opportunity for youngsters to put their inventions in the spotlight and winners will meet Professor Cox at the live finals in London.
