Minicab driver blinded by robbers

Second attack sparks warning to cabbies

Police have warned minicab and taxi drivers to beware after the second incident where a noxious liquid has been sprayed in a cabbie's face.

The latest incident was on Sunday eveing in Gloucester Road, Wolverton.

A Speedline private hire vehicle arrived to pick up customers when it was approached by three men.

One of them sprayed the liquid causing burning and temporary loss of vision.

They then stole his keys and 15.

It is linked to a similar incident in Bradwell Abbey on August 3.

Det Con Wendy Fellowes said they advised taxi companies not to take bookings from witheld phone numbers unless they are established customers.

All three men were white and anyone with information should call Det Con Fellowes via 0845 8 505 505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the attacks and are currently on police bail.
