The Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Brian White, joined more than 150 people at the city’s second PALFEST on Sunday, celebrating Palestinian culture.
Following the successful format of the first MK PALFEST last year, this event included Palestinian music, food, arts and crafts, dancing, face painting, games and activities for children at Milton Keynes Academy.
Musicians performed Palestinian music throughout the afternoon and there were stalls selling Palestinian food and handicrafts, Fairtrade goods and books, as well as exhibitions of photographs, embroidery and literature.
Information stalls from groups who are twinned with Palestinian villages and other groups supporting peace and justice were also present.
The event was organised by MK Palestine Solidarity Campaign, assisted with funding from the MK Community Foundation and supported by some Milton Keynes Trades Unions and other local organisations.
