City MP Mark Lancaster is calling on musicians to help Rock the House for an annual competition.
Rock the House gives musicians the chance to enter original material to their MP, who will ultimately nominate one entrant to go forward to the next stage of the competition.
A panel will then get together to choose the finalists and winners. They will then go on to have their pieces played in parliament and win an array of prizes from equipment, festival slots, high profile exposure, recording sessions, plus radio and TV airplay.
City musician, Martin Wakley, director of Milton Keynes Music and owner of Buskers in Wolverton will be helping to co-ordinate the entries for Milton Keynes.
MP for Milton Keynes North, Mark Lancaster said: “This innovative project calls for artists of all genres to showcase their creative talents. With endorsements from high profile music legends such as Brian May, Rick Wakeman and Alice Cooper, plus the prizes on offer to the winners; I’m excited to see what Milton Keynes has to offer.”
