MP Mark urges people to consider organ donation
City MP, Mark Lancaster, has urged people to do their bit for people suffering with life threatening diseases by signing up to the NHS Organ Donor Register.
There are 7,698 people waiting for a life-saving organ transplant in the UK, with 10 of those people living in Milton Keynes North. Since 2006, 25 people in the constituency have had their lives saved by an organ transplant, but tragically three people on the waiting list die every day in the UK because they do not receive a transplant in time.
Mr Lancaster said: “Organ donation is a wonderful gift and something which most people don’t consider unless they, or someone they know, need a replacement. This is why I am urging people to speak to their friends and family and register their wishes to donate through the NHS Organ Donor Register.”
If you think that you would like to consider donating your organs, please visit the organ donor website here or call 0300 123 23 23.
