Citizen exposes brothel in Queensway flat
An illegal brothel, complete with a domination room and bondage bed, is selling 100 an hour sex just yards away from a Bletchley nursery school, the Citizen can reveal.
For eight years the location of Shadows has been such a well-kept secret that even its neighbours did not realise what was going on behind its tightly closed doors.
Now, following a Citizen investigation, police are to make enquiries about the Queensway flat – and warn they will prosecute "robustly"
if necessary.
Shadows, which advertises itself as a legal massage parlour, runs a team of five prostitutes based in a flat above the Swinton Insurance offices.
Directly opposite is Knowles nursery school – recently judged 'outstanding' by Ofsted – Saplings Children's Centre and Leon recreation ground. Next to these are Knowles infant and junior schools.
One shocked parent said: "You simply could not imagine a site closer to so many children. I can't believe the authorities have allowed it."
Yet Milton Keynes Council has no power to do anything – much to the outrage of Bletchley Conservative councillor Andrew Morris.
He said: "I have to thank the Citizen for bringing this to my attention.
"I've checked with the council's officers and I'm pretty shocked that the law means there is nothing they can do about this, especially considering its location."
A brothel is a place where more than one sex worker practices at any one time. All such premises are illegal in the UK. Many brothels get round the law by calling themselves massage parlours. But a call from a Citizen reporter posing as a prospective punter proved Shadows had far more than massage to offer.
"We have three girls here," said the manager, who went on to reveal their names and bust sizes.
She described the services available, including 'tie and tease', bondage, corporal punishment and role play. The price for such 'specials' rises to 130, she said.
She even advised our reporter to park in the nearby Nat West bank car park.
When confronted, the manager told the Citizen: "We keep ourselves to ourselves. We are doing nothing illegal. We have our own external staircase. It's not as though our clients run up it shouting 'I'm about to visit a brothel'. We are very discreet."
A council spokesman said: "Our schools in Queensway had no knowledge an activity of this nature was taking place. There has been no impact on the schools."
