Milton Keynes Marathon has just been given a real superhero boost!
Runners of all ages and abilities are being invited to take part in the Superhero Fun Run, which will form part of the main event on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5.
“This is a fantastic event, and last year’s superheroes have said what a great atmosphere and fun day the event was,” said Superhero Fun Run director Andy Hully.
“We really encourage all the participants, whether they are a runner or a walker, to embrace the theme and wear their favourite superhero costume.”
As with last year’s inaugural event, Acorn Childcare are once again sponsoring the race.
“As a not-for-profit childcare organisation that specialises in outdoor play and learning we are keen to be involved in community activities and especially those which encourage children and adults to get active outdoors,” explained Zoe Raven, managing director of Acorn Childcare.
“We’ll be providing runners to accompany younger children, if needed, to ensure that all children enjoy the experience safely.”
Entries for the Superhero Fun Run have already opened and cost £10 for adults, £8 for children under the age of 16.
Hundreds are expected to pull on their tights, tie up their capes and go run for fun on the 1.5 mile route.
Marshals from Acorn Childcare will line the route and ensure safety is paramount.
