Campbell Park is run by the Parks Trust

THE custodian of Milton Keynes’ green spaces The Parks Trust is looking for people to join its Board of Trustees.

The charity, which owns and cares for 5,000 acres of parks and green spaces, is looking for two or three people to join the Board.

Trustees are volunteers who are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Trust and ensuring it performs well.

Chief executive of Trust, David Foster, said: “Some of our longer-standing Trustees are due to step down and opening up these opportunities to the community is an important way for us to further broaden and strengthen our Board’s skills and experience.

“The Board has to ensure the long-term future for the Trust and the city’s parkland so being a Trustee is a position of influence and great responsibility, now and for future generations.”

The Trust would particularly like to hear from people with knowledge and experience in ecology, wildlife, biodiversity, conservation, landscape design/urban design and planning, marketing and communications, community engagement, financial investments, fund management, leisure management, sport and recreation.

Mr Foster added: “The role of Trustee is interesting and rewarding and one in which your knowledge and skills will be harnessed to make a really positive contribution.”
