RAIL passengers have missed important dates today after the train derailment at Bletchley

Customers had been advised not to travel this morning after a freight train derailed a few yards before reaching Bletchley station.
However, some people had not seen the warnings or checked the timetable and assumed services would be running as usual.
Victoria Phillips, from Bletchley, was travelling to Stratford, East London, where she works with children’s charity, Painted Children.
She said: “It’s unavoidable to be honest but it’s still a pain. This afternoon I’m due to be taking part in a big presentation where we will be giving out awards to some of our volunteers. My boss is looking into how much a taxi would cost.”
One student, from Bradwell Village, was due in Leighton Buzzard College at 9am to take an A-level exam.
She said: “I was supposed to be in college today for an exam and the officials here said there was no alternative transport to get me to Leighton Buzzard. I just hope the exam board accept my reason for not being there, as it’s up to them and not the college whether I can be excused and take it again.”
Fellow student Fahmi Ally, who studies at Bletchley College, had travelled from London to be in college for 10.30am.
He said: “This morning I was thinking of checking the schedule but there has never been a problem so I didn’t bother. If I get the bus to Bletchley it will take me 40 minutes and I will be late. It’s only usually five minutes on the train. I’ll talk to my tutor and see what he says.
The incident took place at 2.28am and halted all long distance services from Scotland and the north into London Euston.
